Past Events

The Fall 2024 quarter featured two exciting POINT events: a workshop on microcontrollers led by staff liaison Connor Lindsay and a tour of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) facilities, courtesy of club founder Scott Marino.


Microcontroller Workshop

On October 24th, Connor presented an introduction to microcontrollers through the Arduino nano, demonstrated some interesting applications, and gave students hands-on experience with writing and running code. His presentation slides are attached here. Photos from workshop are attached below.

SLAC Tour

On November 13th, the POINT club traveled to SLAC and received an inspiring tour from Scott Marino and Ben Ripman. The club had the opportunity to gain perspective on the work needed to keep the world's largest linear accelerator and most powerful X-ray laser running and learned about the cutting-edge research taking place at the facility. Upcoming Events

In Winter quarter 2025, POINT expects to resume project progress updates in the middle and end of the quarter. POINT will also be hosting another workshop, further details will be posted here at a later date.
